Happy St Patrick’s Day to you! Lá fhéile Pádraig sona duit! The St Patrick’s Day celebrations are set to continue tomorrow (Thursday 18th) too with our 41 Club Connects’ St Patrick’s Day Special starting at 7:30pm. To join just go to https://zoom.us/j/99782721709
Remember to wear something Green!

Some members have asked for advance notice of forthcoming events, so here goes… Next Thursday, 25th March, we have TV celebrity, Amanda Owen, the Yorkshire Shepherdess.

She is followed a week later, on Thursday 1st April (no joke!), with Christo Brand, all the way from South Africa. Christo was Nelson Mandela’s prison warder for 18 years – mainly in Robben Island.

In other news…The Launch of the 41 Club Buddies Web Page onwww.41ClubConnects.co.uk; and the opportunity to volunteer as a Buddy
In December 2020, the 41 Club Buddyline was set up, and now has 18 volunteer ‘Buddies’ ready and willing to answer calls on a daily rota seven days a week, between 10am and 10pm. We are aware that just by having this service available, 41 Clubs across the Association have felt encouraged to have discussions within their clubs to ensure they are supporting any member who may be feeling lonely or down and would benefit from a chat.
We also know however that for some members feeling isolated, picking up the phone and asking for support is a huge step and not an easy thing to do. To assist with this we are pleased to launch the 41 Club Buddies Web Page where any Club or member can go and find out more information about the Buddyline service, as well as find contact details and descriptions of a range of other Support Organisations who will be able to help members with a variety of questions or concerns. The page can be found at https://41clubconnects.co.uk/41-club-buddyline/
We are also looking for additional Buddy volunteers to join our existing Buddies rota, to be available one day a week to answer the Buddyline. If you would like to be there for your fellow members, and can spare the time, please contact Peter McBride at region24@41club.org for more details. Keep safe.
Yours in Continued Friendship
