A message from the National President

41 Club Website Link

Dear Members,

As we are already in or just about to re-enter another period of extended lockdown, I want to reassure you that the 41 Club Board and National Council is there to support you and your club. There is much happening already – 41 Club Connects, our on-line speaker programme, will be back very soon. The “Follicley Challenged Chefs Facebook Group” is going strong; as are other groups like the “500 + 500 More – RT Family Challenge Facebook Group”. Whilst a summer lockdown was bad for people, this winter lockdown could well be ten times worse – cold dark nights and limited social contact. I am sure you would do so anyway, but it would be remiss of me not to remind you to please keep a lookout for your family, friends and fellow 41 Club members who could be struggling. I want you to know that 41 Club is a place for you to go to, if you need a friend to talk to. The Board and Council are scheduled to meet next weekend (virtually now), and one of my objectives is to set up a group of regionally based volunteers, who you could keep in touch with by phone or Zoom, aided by a help page on the web site. If you would like to be one of these volunteers please register your details on the following link: https://tinyurl.com/41ClubVolunteer or you can use the following QR code by using the camera on your mobile telephone to scan it:

Despite the hard times we face, money for my presidential charity, Dementia UK, is coming in so please accept my thanks and delight for this. I want us to build bridges with Round Table and to raise 41 Club’s profile in the community. Most important of all, let’s look after each other with kindness and respect. Take care and stay safe.

Peter Good

National President
