The Calendar page has been updated to include full details of our annual petanc contest against the Costa Blanca 41 Club.

We will be holding Billy Boules on Wednesday 17th June at 6.00pm at the same beautiful venue as the last time we hosted here. That is to say, in the tree-shaded park situated between the Villa Gadea Hotel and the L’Olla beach, Altea. Afterwards we will take the short walk to the “El Cigaro” Chiringito on L’Olla beach for tapas. The price is yet to be confirmed but, hopefully, will be in the region of €15 including wine. At present I am anticipating around 10 people (5 pairs) from Calpe 41 but possibly may have some additional guests.

Billy will be flying in by private helicopter, accompanied by his bodyguard, but for the rest of us mere mortals –

Directions are as follows:

Leave the motorway at jctn 64 Peaje (Altea/Calpe) and continue half a mile, passing under the railway bridge, before forking right (signposted “Altea/Alicante”). After 100 metres bear left onto the new link-road giving direct access to the Hotel. Cross the N332 at the traffic lights and bear left (i.e. keeping the hotel immediately on your right). Take the 1st right and drive alongside the hotel to the Pink Villa Gadea Building which is facing you.

When you reach the mini round-about, cross the pavement in front of the building, turning right as you do so, and keeping the olive tree and water pump on your left. Drive along the gravel track immediately in front of the hotel until you see the Boules Courts on the lower level.

Boules sets
Seats if required (there are some benches but may not be enough)
Jumpers or cardigans (in case there is a sea breeze at the Chiringito)
