My introduction to Round Table was in Colchester Essex. Where I was became the International Officer, Treasurer, programme officer and Chairman in the Millennium year.  Colchester 367 was twined with Zwolle in Holland. And during my year as Chair we attended the European numbering meeting where we met up with Tables from Germany, Austria, Norway, Finland, Italy, Denmark, France and many more. I still have many of those people as friends now.

       The new membership rules, “for like minded men” to join , will help to develop a new future for all 41 Clubs. Particularly those in Spain which have been experiencing a loss of membership due to the Schengen rules.

      I see the future of an active and successful club being its program. If you make it exciting and enjoyable our members will tell their friends and so on.

      We are not the U3A, and do not wish to be. We happily exist along side of these other organisations but differentiate ourselves with the youthfulness of our members and development of friendship.

I am looking forward to the challenges and privileges of being Chairman of Calpe 41 Club, and wish everyone a very happy and healthy future.
