AND TODAY –
We are experiencing a period of re-building as the effects of Brexit and many of the original members choosing to retire as age takes its toll as nature does. So we now have a ability to re-build a newer, younger, active club run by its members for its members.
Although not all our members are full time residents. Many are holiday home owners and visit on a part-time basis, but all are welcome, either from Great Britain and Ireland or International. Historically Past Tablers created the club and are always welcome we now enjoy the fellowship of all friends from other parts of Europe and not just past tablers.
All are Welcome.
THE EARLY DAYS
Calpe and District 41 Club was brought about by a group of Ex-Tablers who met at the initiative of our membership officer and club contact, Ian Ritchie. It was his energy and enthusiasm and the energy of our original officers that brought the idea to reality.
The club was formed in 2005 when a number of Ex-Round Tablers, who either lived permanently on the Costa Blanca or owned a holiday home in the area, decide to form the club so that they could continue to enjoy that special fellowship they had experienced with like-minded men while in Round Table. We were chartered in 2006.
Calpe & District 41 Club is one of eight 41 Clubs on the Iberian Peninsula that are affiliated to
The Association of Ex-Round Tablers Clubs GB&I, which has a total membership of around 17,000 men over the age of 45.
The clubs on the Iberian Peninsular meet for “Cluster” each autumn, hosted in turn by the different clubs.
We enjoy social events, nights out, lunches, and meetings and talks. We are also looking to expand our European meetings with other OT (old Tablers) of Europe.
The club is here for you – Its Members.
