At the recent AGM Carlo Gentile was voted to become the new chairman of Calpe and District 41 Clum.

Carlo was previously Chair of his home Table, Colchester 367, and brings over 20 years of Tabling experience to the Costa Blanca.

Being a permanent resident of Calpe for around 2 years prior to which he was living in Xalo.

On becoming Chair Carlo said, “Its a great privaliage to become Chairman of such a great club which has been in existence here in Calpe for some 20 years.

We have some big challenges facing us in the near future due to the restrictions of Brexit and our aging membership but as long as we offer a vibrant entertaining club that people enjoy and have fun then we will survive through these difficult times.

I see the biggest asset we have is being affiliated to the UK 41 Club. Because without that affiliation we just become another old mans luncheon club. As long as we concentrate on getting a exciting and varied program of activities which people want to participate in then the rest will take care of its self”.

While Carlo was Chair of Colchester 367 he oversaw its expansion into meetings with other European Tables including Zwolle in Holland, Deutchlandsbergh in Austria and many others from which he still have many friends.
