XRT & 41 CLUB – MEMBERSHIP MATTERS
Membership numbers are increasing!
I am very pleased to report the first increase in Membership numbers for many years and certainly since I have
assumed my role. I’m not getting carried away as it’s only a small increase and we have many challenges in the
coming years but it’s a really encouraging early sign that our strategy of Recruitment & Retention is starting to make a difference.
Our total membership as of 1stJuly 2024 is 12,101 of which 390 are duplicate memberships (members of more
than one Club), thus giving 11,711 ‘unique’ Members.
New Clubs – XRT Clubs leading the growth of our Association
Our strategic initiative to encourage the formation of new XRT Clubs continues to gain traction, with five new Clubs being announced at the Liverpool AGM and an additional three XRT Clubs being affiliated in July. This means that in 2024 alone we have seen 11 brand new Clubs start-up – 10 of which are XRT Clubs!
The new Clubs affiliated in 2024 to date are:
- London XRT
- Chester XRT
- Shakespeare International 41 Club
- Reigate XRT
- Tamworth & District Mercian XRT
- Diss & District XRT
- Clacton XRT
- Marlow XRT
- West Cumbria XRT
- Thornbury XRT
- Beckenham XRT
Many more Clubs are in the pipeline, planning to affiliate in the coming weeks and months. This, in conjunction with the start of our Regional Membership Roadshows, is very encouraging.
If your Club has any Membership questions or you would like to talk about your Membership, please get in touch with me.
11 brand new Clubs to date in 2024!
With more on the way..
New Regional Membership Roadshows
Six free Regional Membership Roadshows are taking
place across the Association in 2024-25, to provide
practical tools, support and techniques to help Clubs
improve retention of their existing members as well as
attracting new members from their local community.
The vision and planning of these is a new venture and
has been enabled by the increased Membership
budget allocation that was approved in Jersey 2023
Conference.
The very first Membership Roadshow took place in
Leeds on 29th & 30th June. Representatives from 11
Clubs attended and their feedback was really positive:
Two free places are available to your Club – this is a unique opportunity to share ideas, insights and learn about really useful tools and techniques to grow your Club – from improving your Social Media presence and how your Club engages with your community, to building an exciting and engaging Club program to attract existing AWOL members as well as new members.
Delegates will learn new tools, processes, techniques and ideas to grow and retain members – not only from
the facilitators but also through networking with other members from Clubs in your
Region.
Accommodation and all food is free of charge for up to 2 members of your Club, based on sharing a twin room.
It’s so easy to book two members of your Club into one of the free 2024-25 roadshows.
Membership Handbook
A new Members Handbook is now available to all members. In
addition to explaining Purposes & Objects, Grace and other Toasts, it also includes the formal new Member Induction, explains the various Council roles and what the Young Ambassadors Program is.
There links to the many Member Benefits, as well as the other GB&I and International Round Table Family Associations.
The Handbook is available on the 41 Club website
https://members.41club.org/pages/members-handbook
and a printed copy can be requested by emailing
admin@41club.org.
New Members Pack – including a £20 voucher!
Lastly, another commitment was to ensure that when a new member is inducted into their Club, we needed to proudly celebrate the occasion.
Well now there is a new publication available to all new members who joined in 2024 – the New Member’s Pack (NMP). Each pack contains a Members Handbook, pin badge, Certificate of Membership, a personal welcome from Wynn Parry and other items – plus a £20 voucher for the new member to spend at the 41 Club Sales website!
Those brand new Clubs who were affiliated this year will have their NMPs automatically emailed to their Club Chairmen shortly. For other existing Clubs, if your Club is planning to induct or has already inducted a new member, you can request your New Member Pack by contacting admin@41club.org.
