It is with great sadness that I have to tell you the devastating news that CALPE 41 Club founder member Bruce Simmonds died earlier this week. 

He passed away peacefully in hospital, surrounded by his family. 

Bruce was a long time member of Calpe 41, and, although he lived in England, he and his wife Kathy were regular visitors to the Costa Blanca, where they own a holiday home. Many of us were lucky enough to enjoy their generous hospitality there, as recently as last year, when they put on a barbecue for us all. 

It was always a pleasure to spend time with Bruce who was quick to smile and even quicker to offer his support when needed. Calpe 41 Club is the poorer for his passing, and he will be greatly missed.

We send our sincerest condolences to Kathy and her family, and offer whatever help we can give at this sad time.
