Laurie Maltby

I have just received the following message from Margaret, Laurie and Betty’s daughter.

“Dear Andrew and members. this is just a sad note to say that dad died peacefully in his sleep on Monday this week at home. Mum is coping without dad well so far but its very early days. Mum and Dad loved their time in Calpe with their many friends in 41 and past Rotarians. I hope we will see you maybe later in the year. Yours in Friendship Margaret.”

Laurie was one of our founder members, indeed he was the one who encouraged Ian Ritchie to start the club. A real gentleman and great company, he and Betty were mainstays of this family in our early days. All of you who knew Laurie will regret his passing. We send Betty, her daughter Margaret and son in law Tony our sincere condolences.

  1. Sandy and l are very sad to learn of Laurie Maltby’s death and send Betty and the family our sincere condolences. A lovely man to be with. Anyone who saw his theatrical production of “The Three Bears” will cherish that memory of a truly hilarious and unique occasion. David Garrett.
